كيفية استخدام as......as كمقارنه بين شيئين :

as......as is used to say that two parts of comparison are equal or the same in some way



تستخدم as......as للمقارنه بين شيئين او شخصين لهما نفس الصفه أو يوجد شئ مشترك بينهما..



مثلاً ..



Hanan is 21 years old..Layla is also 21



حنان وليلى بينهما شئ مشترك ألا وهو المرحله العمريه ..كلاهما 21 سنه ..فتكون صياغة الجمله هكذا :



Layla is as old as Hanan -



مثال آخر .. Ahmad came as quickly as he could-





* نلاحظ في المثال الثاني وجود الحال quickly في محل الصفه Old في المثال الأول



لذا يكون شكل الجمله مع الصفه : as + adjective + as



OR



أو مع الحال : as + adverb + as







more examples : l



- honey is as sweet as sugar



- Do you think that Sarah is as good as she said ..?







Negative النـــــــــفي :



The form of the negative is : not as .......as



Example: "Shatha is 24 years ..Layla is 21 years" l



Shatha is not as old as Layla.



- He is not as capable as his brother.



Notice :



Layla is 21 , Eman is 26 , Hussain is 18



Ex : Layla is not quite as old as Hussain ..

not quite as=a small difference



الفارق بينهما ليس كبير جداً لذا استخدمنا not quite



Shatha is not nearly as old as Hussain..



not nearly as =big difference



الفارق بينهما كبير لذا استخدمنا not nearly



More examples for both adjective & adverb :



- I should help the others as often as I can..



-Don`t be careless. It`s not as easy as it looks..l



- She is not as sensitive as her friend.. l



A lemon is not as sweet as Orange
